Jamestown Fire Department calls Jan. 14-Feb. 3:
Jan. 14: 1:47 p.m., fire department responded to 718 10th St. S.E., Taco John’s, to a report of smoke in the structure. Firefighters found smoke but no fire. Smoke was exhausted and an investigation was conducted. Cause: unknown. No firefighter injuries. Time out: one hour, 15 minutes.
Jan. 15: 9:03 a.m., ready squad responded to 419 Fifth St. N.E., Jamestown Hospital, to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: staff cleaning fryer in kitchen. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.
Jan. 17: 8:25 a.m., ready squad responded to 1317 Business Loop East, ALPHA Opportunities, to investigate odor. Firefighters for smoke/fire/ carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide was detected with a reading of 161 ppm. Cause: furnace. Time out: 45 minutes.
