Fargo indoor arena sets record attendance in 2010
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Fargodome officials say the city events center set a record for attendance in 2010.
Financial documents show that more than 528,000 people attended events last year, up from about 486,000 in 2009.
Dome general manager Rob Sobolik says the building attracted national touring events such as Walking with Dinosaurs, Bon Jovi and Carrie Underwood.
Sobolik says attendance at annual and trade show events remained steady and the North Dakota State football team played its first-ever playoff game at the dome.
The Forum reports that the dome ended the year with a $145,000 operating surplus, which Sobolik says was nearly three times over what was budgeted.
Sobolik says the dome has operated in the red for 18 straight years.
