Fire breaks out at LaMoure Public School

A fire broke out Friday night at LaMoure Public School, according to Paula Wilson, bartender at Nogo’s Tavern, in LaMoure.

A fire broke out Friday night at LaMoure Public School, according to Paula Wilson, bartender at Nogo’s Tavern, in LaMoure.

Wilson said she heard on the police scanner that fire departments from Oakes, Edgeley, Marion and the local unit were called to the scene around 8:30 p.m.

Spouses of firefighters at the tavern reported that the fire was contained and there was smoke damage, Wilson said.

“It’s kind of a rough thing right now because everyone is in the middle of it,” she said.

Calls to several law enforcement agencies in and around the LaMoure area were unanswered Friday night as of 10:20 p.m.
