Patricia “Pat” Mikula, 80, Oakes, N.D., died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Oakes Community Hospital, Oakes. Patricia Genevieve Fallon was born April 20, 1930, the daughter of John and Helena (Arens) Fallon.

Patricia “Pat” Mikula, 80, Oakes, N.D., died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Oakes Community Hospital, Oakes.

Patricia Genevieve Fallon was born April 20, 1930, the daughter of John and Helena (Arens) Fallon. She was raised on a farm near Harvey, N.D., and graduated from Harvey High School in 1947. She graduated from Interstate Business College in 1948. She married Norbert “Mick” Mikula on Aug. 10, 1948, in Barnesville, Minn. They lived in several communities including Barnesville, Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, and Perham, Minn., and Grand Forks and Fargo, N.D., before moving to Oakes in 1978, when they purchased the E & I Motel. They operated the motel for 22 years. She was a daycare provider and seamstress. They retired in November 2000. He died Dec. 7, 2001. She was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Oakes, and the Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking and playing bridge.

She is survived by four daughters, Alicia (Garry) Dugan, Manvel, N.D., Anna Marie (Al) Ashburn, Goodyear, Ariz., Mary (Cody) Bohl, Gering, Neb., and Bridgette, (Brian) Bailey, Clinton, Md.; four sons, Fallon (Stephanie), Milwaukee, Wis., Michael, Ashland, Wis., Nathan (Karen), Kennedale, Texas, and Peter (Brenda), Jamestown; a sister, Mina Kopseng, Bismarck, N.D.; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Leo and Alvah; and a sister, Catherine Rudel.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Oakes.

Prayer service: 7 p.m. today, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial: Alice Community Cemetery, Alice, N.D., in the spring.
