BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Construction is scheduled to begin in March on a $52 million expansion at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck.

The work will nearly double the size of the facility, which is home to the State Historical Society of North Dakota and is the state's history museum.

Construction is expected to be finished in January 2013. Historical Society Director Merl Paaverud (PAW’-ver-ood) said the Heritage Center will remain open during construction.
