Optimist club honors athletes

Alex Lind, Brooke Lukach and Landon Ostlie of Jamestown High School have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.

Lind, a sophomore on the gymnastics team, led the Blue Jays in scoring as they placed third in the team meet. She then placed second on floor, sixth on bars, 12th on vault and 10th in the all around during the individual competition.

Lukach, a senior gymnast, had a career-best all around score of 35.05 in the team competition. She also had a career-best 9.333 on floor and all around (35.517) during the individual meet.

Ostlie won the 200 individual medley at the West Region meet in a school-record time of 2:01.67. He also won the 100 backstroke and swam a leg on the Blue Jays’ 200 freestyle relay team. He also was named the West Region Athlete of the Year along with Alex Lucy of Minot.
