N.D. DOT division marks 100 years of service

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The state Transportation Department's motor vehicle division is marking a century of service.

Officials say the first licenses plates issued for North Dakota vehicles was in 1911. That year, 7,201 vehicles were registered.

Transportation officials say about 952,000 vehicles are registered at present.
