The state Transportation Department’s motor vehicle division is marking a century of service.

BISMARCK (AP) — The state Transportation Department’s motor vehicle division is marking a century of service.

Officials said the first licenses plates issued for North Dakota vehicles was in 1911. That year, 7,201 vehicles were registered.
