BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's new Republican members of Congress are among the richest people in the House and Senate.
The Center for Responsive Politics in Washington reported Wednesday that North Dakota Congressman Rick Berg has assets ranging from $21 million to $60 million. That would rank him 10th among the 435 members of the House.
Sen. John Hoeven reports assets ranging from $12 million to $58 million. That ranks him 13th among 100 senators.
Both Hoeven and Berg were elected to Congress last year. Hoeven is part owner of his family's Minot bank. Berg is a commercial real estate developer in Fargo.
Incumbent Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad reports assets ranging from $1.5 million to $3.4 million. The center says that ranks Conrad 50th among the 100 senators.
