New format for Final Five
The WCHA hockey tournament will trot out a slightly different format this weekend. The Final Five name is the same, but now there are six teams that come to Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Western Collegiate Hockey Association postseason championship, possession of the Broadmoor Trophy, and automatic bid to the NCAA tournament will be determined.

The Final Five name is the same, but now there are six teams that come to Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Western Collegiate Hockey Association postseason championship, possession of the Broadmoor Trophy, and automatic bid to the NCAA tournament will be determined.
WCHA expansion to 12 teams this season prompted the change.
In quarterfinal games today, Bemidji State plays Minnesota Duluth and Alaska Anchorage faces Colorado College.
North Dakota and Denver secured spots in the semifinals on Friday night.
