Comedy

Michael Whisler performs on acoustic 12-string guitar at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Arts Center. Tickets: $5 for members, $8 for others, available at the door.

A mini-version of the musical “Oliver,” by the Valley Children’s Choir is at 7 p.m. Thursday at Theatre 320 on the Valley City State University campus. There is no admission charge.

“Macbeth,” presented by Jamestown College, is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday April 7-9, in DeNault Auditorium in the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Jamestown College. Tickets are $7 and can be reserved through the box office at 252-3467, ext. 2435, or by e-mail at tickets@jc.edu. Tickets can also be purchased at the website www.jc.edu and clicking on “Community” and then “Reiland Box Office.”

Samantha Riehl will present a vocal recital at 2 p.m. Saturday in Voorhees Chapel on the Jamestown College campus. There is no admission charge.

Rachel Douts will present a vocal recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Voorhees Chapel on the Jamestown College Campus. There is no admission charge.

“Bedbugs” and “Wanted: One Groom,” two plays presented by the Lisbon Opera House is at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The theater is located at 413 Main St., Lisbon. Tickets are $8 for the main floor and $12 for the gallery.

“Shoes Along the Highway,” a play presented by Jamestown High School, is at 7 p.m. April 11 in the Jamestown High School Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children, school passes will be honored.

Special Events

Jamestown Choralaires’ spring concert, “A Fool For Love,” is Friday and Saturday. The social is at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner and performance at 7 p.m. at the Zebedee Center at St. John’s Academy. Tickets are $25 each, by reservation only and can be purchased at Country Gardens Floral and Greenhouse, 251-2030.

Around Town

Wood carving with a local wood carving group is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Arts Center’s Hansen Studio. There is no charge. Call Andy Kudrna at 320-5075 with questions.

Libraries/etc.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sundays by appointment. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

Alfred Dickey Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464.

Storytime is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alfred Dickey Library. The theme is “Frogs.”

Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. S.E.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N., Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.

The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays through Saturdays. The site will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Contact Mark Sundlov at 701-797-3691 for more information.

Art

Pingree-Buchanan High School art class art is on display at Unison Bank in March. Unison features a new artist in its lobby each month.
