GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A fire Saturday heavily damaged a rural Grand Forks family's home, but authorities say no one was injured.

A couple dozen firefighters from Thompson and Manvel responded to the blaze, which officials say started in a basement bathroom but quickly spread through the walls to the ceiling.

Firefighters were on the scene for more than three hours.

Thompson Fire Chief Gary Adams tells WDAZ television that it was a major fire structurally because the flames crawled up and firefighters had to tear into the structure to get at them.

The name of the family is not being released.
