More than 200 airmen returning to Minot base

More than 200 airmen were returning to Minot Air Force Base on Monday after serving about five months in Guam.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — More than 200 airmen were returning to Minot Air Force Base on Monday after serving about five months in Guam.

The airmen with the 69th Bomb Squadron deployed to Andersen Air Base in Guam last November, replacing airmen with the base's 23rd Bomb Squadron.

The Minot Daily News reports that it was the first time the base's 5th Bomb Wing had back-to-back deployments to Guam. They were part of efforts to have a continuous bomber presence in the southwest Pacific.
