N.D. foster parent sentenced for sex crime
A Devils Lake man has been sentenced to serve 45 days in jail for molesting a 5-year-old girl while serving as a foster parent.
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — A Devils Lake man has been sentenced to serve 45 days in jail for molesting a 5-year-old girl while serving as a foster parent.
The Devils Lake Journal reports that 51-year-old Jeff Urness will be on supervised probation for the rest of the three-year sentence and also must get sex offender treatment.
Urness pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition last December. Ramsey County State's Attorney Lonnie Olson says the crime occurred in 1998 and the victim reported it in 2009. The victim was consulted about the plea agreement reached by Urness and Olson.
