Casselton residents warned to stop using water as city’s sewer system backs up
CASSELTON, N.D. – Officials here issued an emergency alert this evening asking residents to stop using water, as the city’s sanitary sewer system was starting to back up.
CASSELTON, N.D. – Officials here issued an emergency alert this evening asking residents to stop using water, as the city’s sanitary sewer system was starting to back up.
Residents were also advised to plug floor drains.
An email sent to residents by City Auditor Brandy Pyle also stated that the closing of Interstate 29 near Argusville would result in a detour that will send traffic through Casselton.
North Dakota highway officials said the interstate closure was expected to be completed by 6 p.m.
Water six inches deep on the interstate was causing a one-hour delay for northbound vehicles.
