N.D. Tax Department extends hours on Monday

The North Dakota Tax Department is open on Monday until 9 p.m. to help state residents who are filing their state returns at the last minute.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Tax Department is open on Monday until 9 p.m. to help state residents who are filing their state returns at the last minute.

The federal tax-filing deadline was moved earlier from the traditional April 15 to April 18 because a holiday fell on April 15 in the District of Columbia. North Dakota followed suit with a three-day filing extension.

Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says his department will be open extra hours Monday to accommodate taxpayers who have last-minute questions or want to drop off their return in person.
