GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Some residents in Larimore are trying to save the city's swimming pool.
Lacey Pietron has issued an email appeal and scheduled a Wednesday night meeting in the northeast North Dakota city of 1,300 people. She and others also have posted signs around town and planned fundraisers.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that the half-century-old pool has surface cracks and internal problems that could cost about $350,000 to fix. The city estimates that without repairs the pool will last only about three more years.
