Body found on Monday identified

Authorities have identified a body found Monday near Devils Lake. Ramsey County Sheriff Steve Nelson said Robert Whitney Jr., 56, Devils Lake, died of natural causes. His body was spotted by a passerby about 3 miles southwest of the city and reported Monday afternoon.

Authorities have identified a body found Monday near Devils Lake.

Ramsey County Sheriff Steve Nelson said Robert Whitney Jr., 56, Devils Lake, died of natural causes. His body was spotted by a passerby about 3 miles southwest of the city and reported Monday afternoon.

Nelson said there’s no indication of foul play, and the incident isn’t under investigation.

Nelson said the Devils Lake dentist was an “avid outdoorsman,” but he wasn’t sure what Whitney was doing at the time of his death.
