MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Minot man has pleaded guilty in federal court to an illegal weapons charge.
Brazil Faheem Alameen, also known as Ronald White, was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and possession of a stolen weapon. Two of the charges were dropped in exchange for the plea.
Prosecutors say police recovered the weapon, a semiautomatic pistol, at Alameen's residence in December 2009. He has previous felony convictions for assault in Minnesota and reckless endangerment in Wisconsin.
Alameen faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Sentencing is set for July 25.
