A New England, N.D., man died Saturday in a two-vehicle collision near New England, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 12:30 p.m. four miles north of England.

Bruce W. Jacobs, 49, was northbound in a pickup on N.D. 22 when his vehicle collided head-on with a southbound pickup driven by Tanner Senn, 19, Bison, S.D. The patrol said visibility was limited, there were whiteout conditions and the road was snow covered with heavy slush at the time of the crash.

Jacobs was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said. Senn was injured and transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson.

Jacobs’ seat belt use was not known. Senn was wearing a seat belt.

The 1988 Toyota pickup that Jacobs was driving and the 2002 Ford F-150 crew cab that Senn was driving were totaled, the patrol said.

The crash is under investigation.
