Sex offender living in Jamestown

The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown residents of a convicted sex offender living in Jamestown. James Charles Thompson III, 35, lives at Buffalo City Motel, #22. He is described as a black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 302 pounds.

The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown residents of a convicted sex offender living in Jamestown.

James Charles Thompson III, 35, lives at Buffalo City Motel, #22. He is described as a black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 302 pounds.

On Jan. 26, 2004, Thompson was convicted of promoting sexual performance by a minor in Stutsman County District Court. Thompson allegedly videotaped a 21-year-old girl having sex with a 15-year-old boy and showed the video to everyone he knew, police said.

He was sentenced to two years disposition and three years supervised probation.

Thompson is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. The notification is intended for public safety and not to increase fear in the community. The information should also not be used to threaten, assault or intimidate. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten Wall or his family, landlord or employer will be turned over for prosecution.
