Big runoff expected for Missouri River

The Army Corps of Engineers says runoff into the Missouri River system this year could be the second highest on record.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The Army Corps of Engineers says runoff into the Missouri River system this year could be the second highest on record.

Runoff into the reservoirs in April was more than twice the normal amount.

The corps forecasts runoff this year of 44 million acre-feet, which is 178 percent of normal.
