Longtime Valley City city attorney resigning

The longtime attorney for Valley City is stepping down.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — The longtime attorney for Valley City is stepping down.

Seventy-year-old R. Jon Fitzner says it’s time for him to slow down. He said the resignation of his law firm is effective Aug. 18.

Fitzner has been the city attorney since the early 1970s. City officials have set up a committee to search for a successor.
