Letter to the editor: Curbside-pickup recycling needs some more thought

The proposed cost of $4.80 per home for curbside recycling pickup is too high. What happens for the five months or so of winter when pickup would be unlikely? Also, who would be responsible for cleanup of spilled containers caused by animals and windy weather? (We do have wind here).

The proposed cost of $4.80 per home for curbside recycling pickup is too high. What happens for the five months or so of winter when pickup would be unlikely? Also, who would be responsible for cleanup of spilled containers caused by animals and windy weather? (We do have wind here). Currently we pay $1 per month year round for mosquito control. This is OK in spring and summer but these pests aren’t around in the winter.

Lets give curbside pickup a lot of thought before we commit to further year-round costs.
