Effort under way to cut Valley City administrator
The city auditor in Valley City has approved an application to circulate a petition to abolish the city administrator position.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — The city auditor in Valley City has approved an application to circulate a petition to abolish the city administrator position.
The Fargo Forum reports that the petition was submitted by three residents who call the position unnecessary and too expensive.
Petitioners must get 491 signatures to put the issue on the ballot during a special election.
Current City Administrator Jon Cameron says it's not the first time the issue has been brought forward. He says an unsuccessful attempt to abolish the position was made about three years ago.
