N.D. to check contractor compliance
Several state agencies plan a cooperative effort to make sure contractors are meeting state laws during a construction boom in North Dakota's oil patch.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Several state agencies plan a cooperative effort to make sure contractors are meeting state laws during a construction boom in North Dakota's oil patch.
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem said Thursday that the team's focus will be to ensure that contractors are paying appropriate taxes and have the proper licenses and worker's compensation insurance.
Officials said random compliance checks at construction sites will be made over the next few weeks.
