Trinity designates special Sunday
Sunday has been designated Scandinavian Heritage Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, as one of its 2011 centennial events.
Sunday has been designated Scandinavian Heritage Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, as one of its 2011 centennial events.
The church was founded in 1911 as Jamestown Scandinavian Lutheran Church. The 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday services will honor the church’s founders using traditional words and music. Coffee and Scandinavian sweets will be served between services. The community is invited to attend.
Other centennial events taking place throughout the summer include a salad luncheon, block party, tree planting, visits by former pastors and celebration weekend Sept. 17 and 18.
Trinity is located at 523 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Jamestown.
