Fugitive arrested in S.D. on tribal charges in N.D.
Federal authorities have arrested a man in South Dakota who fled from numerous tribal court charges in North Dakota.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Federal authorities have arrested a man in South Dakota who fled from numerous tribal court charges in North Dakota.
Aljoe Silk is charged on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation with aggravated assault, burglary, theft, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, hindering and disorderly conduct.
Silk was released from tribal custody in June 2009 and failed to remain in contact with authorities.
Court documents show that Silk was arrested earlier this week in Little Eagle, S.D. He's charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and punishment.
