MEDORA, N.D. (AP) — Flooding and wet conditions in western North Dakota have led to the closing of a state park, a popular golf course, sandbagging in Medora and another closure along a heavily traveled state highway.
Officials have closed Sully Creek State Park south of Medora because of flooding along the Little Missouri River. North Dakota Public Radio reports that Medora residents are sandbagging to keep the river at bay, and The Dickinson Press reports that the Bully Pulpit Golf Course is closed because 13 holes are flooded.
Little Missouri State Park north of Killdeer remains open but can't be accessed from Highway 22. It was closed north of Killdeer on Friday when ground shifting caused pavement buckling. State Transportation officials on Monday said it also had been closed south of Mandaree.
