Some trucker rules modified for N.D. flood response
North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple has waived service hour and weight restrictions for commercial truck drivers who are providing direct help to flood relief efforts.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple has waived service hour and weight restrictions for commercial truck drivers who are providing direct help to flood relief efforts.
The Bismarck-Mandan area is trying to ward off the rising Missouri River, and residents of the Souris River basin in north central North Dakota also are battling high water.
Dalrymple issued a similar executive order earlier this spring, when the flood battle was mainly in eastern North Dakota. The goal is to get needed equipment to flood fighters quickly.
