The Southeast James-town Regional DUI Task Force participated in the new Regional DUI Task Force program in North Dakota. Law enforcement made six driving under the influence arrests and 37 other significant arrests during the recent third quarter unified saturation patrol effort. This task force began on Oct. 1, 2010, in order to take significant steps toward reducing alcohol-related crashes and fatalities across the state.

In the Southeast Jamestown Region, 12 law enforcement agencies participated in the third quarter of this new program. During the unified enforcement effort, which was conducted on May 27-28, there were no crashes and no impaired driving fatalities in the region. The task force said the statistics emphasize the importance of enforcement and saturation patrols in protecting motorists on North Dakota’s roadways. Eighty-three percent of all law enforcement agencies participate in the DUI Task Force across North Dakota. This program is intended to save lives by reducing alcohol-related fatalities and car crashes.
