ND man charged in federal court with assault

A North Dakota man is accused in federal court of an assault on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man is accused in federal court of an assault on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.

Levi Jerome is charged with assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He has pleaded not guilty to both counts.

Authorities say the 23-year-old Jerome assaulted Jordan Iceman on May 29.

Jerome faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison on the two counts.
