Bike safety rodeo set for Friday
A Bike Safety Rodeo sponsored by the James Valley Fraternal Order of Police, Jamestown Parks and Recreation, Farmers Insurance Agency, Central Valley Health, Jamestown Optimists, Newman Signs and Walmart will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Friday at Wilson Arena (use the east doors).
A Bike Safety Rodeo sponsored by the James Valley Fraternal Order of Police, Jamestown Parks and Recreation, Farmers Insurance Agency, Central Valley Health, Jamestown Optimists, Newman Signs and Walmart will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Friday at Wilson Arena (use the east doors). There will be a drawing for seven bikes. Free hot dogs and pop will be served.
The rodeo includes a safety village for children to ride bikes through. Officials from the police department as well as the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department will be on hand to inspect bikes, tires and brakes for safety.
The Optimist Club will provide free bike helmets (while supplies last) and the police department will be selling bike licenses for $5. A limited number of bikes will be available to ride the obstacle course. For more information, call the Jamestown Parks and Recreation office at 252-3982.
