CAVALIER, N.D. (AP) — An escapee from the county jail in Cavalier may have spent some time in Fargo.
Pembina County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jeff Osvold told KFGO radio that information supplied to his office indicates Glen Stegman spent several days in a Fargo treatment center.
The 34-year-old Stegman escaped May 19 while being led back to jail from a court hearing.
Osvold said it’s unclear if the facility knew Stegman was a fugitive. He said it’s possible the facility was prohibited from notifying authorities because of confidentiality laws.
Stegman is not considered dangerous, although authorities said he has a history of resisting law officers.
