Virginia Martel, 87, Bismarck, N.D., formerly of Medina, N.D., died Monday, June 6, 2011, at Baptist Home, Bismarck. Virginia Martel was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Medina, the daughter of Gust and Katie (Rau) Martel.

Virginia Martel, 87, Bismarck, N.D., formerly of Medina, N.D., died Monday, June 6, 2011, at Baptist Home, Bismarck.

Virginia Martel was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Medina, the daughter of Gust and Katie (Rau) Martel. She received her education in rural Medina schools, graduating from Medina High School. She lived on the family farm until 1959 when she moved into Medina. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Medina. She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible.

She is survived by special friends, the Craig Reister family, Medina.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Reuben.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, First Baptist Church, Medina, with the Rev. Randy Jaspers officiating.

Visitation: one hour before the service at the church. Arrangements by Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina.
