Name released in crash fatality

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Mandan, N.D., teenager who was killed in a rollover Monday evening in Morton County.

The patrol said Becca-Jo Olson, 16, Mandan, was a passenger in a 2003 Chevrolet pickup that rolled at about 8:54 p.m. Monday a gravel road southwest of Mandan. The pickup was northbound and went out of control while going down a steep hill, entered the west ditch and went back on the road and rolled twice before coming to rest in the middle of the road.

Olson was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 17-year-old male from Mandan, was injured and transported to Medcenter One Hospital, Bismarck. The patrol is withholding name because of the ongoing investigation into the crash.

The driver and Olson were not wearing seat belts.
