A trooper for the North Dakota Highway Patrol was struck by a drunk driver, the patrol said in a press release Wednesday.
Trooper Luke Hendrickson was on routine patrol at the junction of Cass County road 17 and 40th Avenue South just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, the patrol said. Hendrickson was stopped for the red light at the intersection. Hendrickson’s patrol vehicle was struck from behind by a 1995 GMC sport utility vehicle driven by 53-year-old Gregory Rogers, Fargo. The West Fargo Police Department investigated the crash. West Fargo police arrested Rogers for allegedly driving under the influence. Hendrickson was transported to Sanford Health in Fargo for injuries and later released.
