BISMARCK, (AP) — The state Department of Public Instruction said new state content standards in English and mathematics have been approved by North Dakota School Superintendent Wayne Sanstead.
They will take effect on July 1, 2013 so schools have time to prepare curriculum changes.
Adoption of the North Dakota standards comes after a nearly two-year review and study process that measured existing standards developed in 2005 against those in an updated national Common Core State Standards.
