VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota secretary of state’s office has approved petitions seeking to recall two Valley City officials.
The Times-Record reported Tuesday that organizers now can gather petition signatures for a special election targeting Mayor Bob Werkhoven and City Commissioner Ken Evenson.
The petitions must be submitted to the city auditor by Sept. 19. If accepted, a recall election would be held within 90 to 100 days.
A separate petition drive is under way in Valley City to eliminate the position of city administrator.
