All bikers are invited to ride in the parade and must wear bike helmets. This family event encourages families to ride or walk together with parents accompanying younger bikers. No motorized bikes of any kind are allowed.

All bikers under 12 will receive a coupon for a free kiddies’ ice cream cone from Dairy Queen of Jamestown and a coupon for a package of free sparklers from Fantastic Fireworks. The Sertoma Club will serve all bikers and guests free root beer floats at the conclusion of the parade.

The theme of the parade is the Fourth of July and prizes will be awarded for the best decorated bikes: First place $20, second and third place $10 each. Kids under 12 can also register at the start of the parade for a boys’ and girls’ bike to be given away, courtesy of Walmart of James-town, and two bike helmets courtesy of Central Valley Health. Kids 13 to 18 can register for two $10 prizes.

Judging for the best decorated bikes will take place at the parking lot and announced at the social at the Sertoma Shelter after the parade. Judging will be based on display of red, white and blue decorations, originality and first impressions.

Bikers are asked to be at the south parking lot by 9:30 a.m. to get into their positions for the parade. For more information, call Charlie Kourajian at 320-3015.

The parade is sponsored by the Jamestown Main Street Downtown Association in partnership with the Sertoma Club of Jamestown, Dairy Queen of Jamestown, Walmart, the Jamestown, Safe Communities Coalition and the Jamestown Police Department.
