The tenth annual Beaver Lake State Park Bullhead Tournament is being held on Sunday, July 10 starting at 9 a.m. and concluding with the weigh-in at 2 p.m.

The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department is also recognizing Beaver Lake State Park patrons Glenn and Georgia Hoberg. The couple are generous patrons of the park and last year were awarded the NDPRD’s highest honor, the Cal Renner Award of Excellence. Since the Hobergs were unable to receive the honor at the NDPRD’s annual awards meeting it will be presented during the tournament. The presentation will be made just following the tournament’s awards program which starts at 2 p.m.

There are adult and children’s divisions with cash prizes based on entry fees. For adults, the fishing tournament entry fee is $5 while kids ages 12 and under fish for free in the children’s division. There will be free hotdogs, chips and pop until they run out. There will also be drawings for prizes donated by area merchants.

July 10 is also Beaver Lake State Park’s Visitor Appreciation Day and the daily park entrance fee is waived.
