An infant was killed and two adults injured when a rural Larimore farm home exploded.

LARIMORE, N.D. (AP) — An infant was killed and two adults injured when a rural Larimore farm home exploded.

The cause of the Monday night blast was not immediately determined but Grand Forks County Sheriff Bob Rost tells KNOX radio that authorities are looking into whether a propane tank malfunctioned. The state fire marshal's office is investigating.

Rost confirmed to KNOX that an infant died in the explosion. A nursing supervisor told the Grand Forks Herald that a man was in serious condition at a Grand Forks hospital. The condition of a woman hurt in the blast was not available. No names have been released.

Sheriff's Department investigator Steve Hamre says the two-story wood frame farmhouse was destroyed. The Herald says debris was spread as far as 40 yards away.
