The Ericksons are recipients of the 2007 and 2008 Duo of the Year award presented by the International Country Gospel Music Association, voted on by their peers. They have been singing together for more than 39 years, but just took their show and ministry on the road in 2000. They travel the U.S. extensively with seasonal emphasis in Arizona, southern California and the northwestern states.
The Ericksons perform country, traditional, southern style gospel music, similar to the type of songs featured on the Bill Gaither programs. Opal is known as “Little Vestal,” because she sings with the same feeling and song-style as Vestal Goodman. Ron is a steel guitarist. He has played on shows with Web Pierce, Pretty Miss Norma Jean, Barbara Fairchild and other Grand ol’ Opry stars.
The concert is free and open to everyone. A freewill offering will be received to help defray the costs of their ministry on the road.
Victory Lutheran is located at 510 Ninth Ave. S.W. For more information, call 251-1570 or go to www.findvictory.org.
