Severe weather warnings were issued throughout Stutsman County Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service, including tornado warnings in southwest Jamestown.
The National Weather Service said it expected widespread thunderstorms — some with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall Friday evening.
As of press time, no damage had been reported, but Pingree, N.D., received as much as five inches of rain by 8:30 p.m., said Sheriff Chad Kaiser.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department issued a travel advisory for northern Stutsman County because of water over roadways. Runoff can cause flash flooding, NWS said.
The flood warning for the Pipestem Creek near Pingree remains in effect today through Monday afternoon, NWS said.
A chance for strong to severe thunderstorms across the James River Valley remains today. The NWS predicts a slight chance of thunderstorms across much of western and central North Dakota Monday night through Thursday.
