Neighbors' worries delay ND park project

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The West Fargo Park Board has delayed approving bids for a $1.1 million park project because of concerns from residents who don't want it in their neighborhood.

The Forum newspaper reports that the park board was scheduled to approve bids last week for the proposed Shadow Wood Lakes Area Park. The park would include a 200-seat terraced seating area with a stage and a canopy and a 100-space parking lot.

Shadow Wood residents presented a petition from residents concerned about safety, traffic, noise and special assessments.

The board unanimously agreed to table awarding the project bids until its meeting Aug. 3.
