North Dakota potato acres have remained stable this year.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota potato acres have remained stable this year.
The Agriculture Department estimates North Dakota acres at 83,000, down just 1 percent from 2010. The area expected to be harvested also is down 1 percent, to 79,000.
Russets account for half of the North Dakota acreage, followed by reds at 26 percent, whites at 23 percent and yellows at 1 percent.
