BISMARCK (AP) — Government agencies will lower their flags to half-staff Thursday in honor of a Bismarck Police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Fifty-six-year-old Sgt. Steven Kenner was shot and killed late Friday while responding to a domestic disturbance call. He was the first Bismarck officer killed on the job and the first North Dakota officer to die while on duty in 15 years.
Kenner’s funeral is scheduled for Thursday in Bismarck.
Gov. Jack Dalrymple has directed all government agencies to fly the North Dakota and American flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Thursday in his honor.
