Standoff in Bismarck lasts more than 6 hours
Bismarck police say they took a man into custody early Saturday morning after a standoff that lasted more than six hours.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Bismarck police say they took a man into custody early Saturday morning after a standoff that lasted more than six hours.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that officers were answering a domestic dispute call around 5:15 p.m. Friday when police discovered that the man had barricaded himself in a house. He was believed to be alone but officers were told he might have firearms.
The SWAT team was called to try to establish communication with the man.
Bismarck police Lt. Dave Draovitch says the standoff ended around midnight and the man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
