Woman dead after crash at Jamestown Reservoir

A woman died when a black Jeep SUV went off the road, struck a tree and stopped partially in the water of the Jamestown Reservoir.

A woman died when a black Jeep SUV went off the road, struck a tree and stopped partially in the water of the Jamestown Reservoir.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 11:13 a.m. Monday, according to dispatch at the Law Enforcement Center on West Lakeside Road, on the west side of the Jamestown Reservoir.

She was driving the Jeep northbound when she drove through a cul-de-sac and partially knocked down a tree, said Detective Jason Falk of the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.

Her identity will not be released until her family can be notified, Falk said.

The Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown Fire and Rescue and North Dakota Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
