Minot State inks BCN’s Windish

Barnes County North’s Allison Windish has signed with Minot State and will compete in track and cross country.

Windish, a Wimbledon native, will compete in distance events for the Beavers, who are in the final year of a 4-year transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division II.

Windish competed in track and field, volleyball and earned all-district honors in basketball for the Bison.

“We are excited to have Allison join our women’s distance crew,” said Minot State track and cross country coach Stu Melby said. “We think he is a raw talent with a lot of potential for improvement. She will be a great asset to our team as she develops and learns more about running and training with others.

“Allison has a strong desire to be successful and has a great attitude.”

Minot State will join the NSIC for the 2012-13 season.
